When Trust for Nature bought Snape Reserve in 2022 areas of the property had been cleared for cropping and grazing over the previous 150 years.
Since the Committee of Management was formed in 2003 work has been carried out to try and return the property to a natural state.
A number of large scale plantings have been carried out with the help of Greening Australia and Project Hindmarsh. These plantings were in 2003, 2004, 2013 and 2022.
In 2023 areas were fenced and planted with funding from Aurizon's Community Giving Fund.
As well the committee has carried out a number of smaller plantings over the years.
